Tomáš Bém: Trautna, 2010
The Trautna Lamps, designed by young Czech designer Tomáš Bém, were displayed already at the last Designblok. The perfect wooden frames, shaped in a lathe onto which simple porcelain sockets are placed with red strings, create balanced interior objects that emit light. The Trautna collection of lamps, nominated for the Editors-in-Chief Awards at Designblok ’10, was made in the workshop of the Bém family, situated on the foothills of the Krkonoše mountains.
