At the Křehký Mikulov festival in May Michal Strach revealed a little of what we can look forward to hearing from him in the Křehký catalogue at the autumn Designblok. His vases and boxes „Sovák“ and „Ufoun“ („Alien“) were presented as prototypes and visitors were also given the chance to see the final form at the workshop. Their approach to the basic shape of the objects was often unexpected and inspiring even for Michal himself. Just like an enjoyable conversation. Let's look forward to Designblok!

"I imagine a wooden pail full of tulips," without hesitation designer Klára Šumová decided the type of flowers she would like to see in her vase „Vědro“ („Wooden Pail“). The traditional water container, which is no longer in use has returned in her presentation with the magic of summer, which will never disappear. As the photo shows it looks just as beautiful with gladiolus flowers. We like the simple fact that the vase changes through out its use. The wood matures, gaining beauty as the water soaks into the grain and is still living life as part of the forest from which it came from.

“The Czech brand Křehký has always been at the forefront of new trends in contemporary art and design and has put together a large collection of various products. Working for this brand enabled me to play and experiment with glass. The goal I set myself was to create a piece for them to initiate conversation with this object. I did not want to start focusing on something that is purely functional,” said the famous Dutch designer Ineke Hans in an interview. She designed for us „Muchomůrka“ (a „Toadstool“). This year a jug has been added to the collection called “Mama Jug“.
