The famed Dutch designer and, simultaneously, the passionate mushroom picker, Ineke Hans, turned our most beautiful poisonous mushroom into glass for Krehky. A fascinating and a slightly surreal collection. It not only encompasses the best of the designer’s well-known poetics, but also the special essence of how she views the Czech lands: the virtuous glassmaking, the mushroom-picking tradition, and the surrealism of Jan Švankmajer. The free objects featuring bright yellow Amanitas, which inhabit the inner landscape of a bowl, cannot conceal the author’s sense of humor, material, and flawless craft and, mainly, her striking personality. By the way, while making them, Ineke traveled the long way back to the man who had fundamentally influenced her in the beginning of her career – Bořek Šípek, in whose glassmaking factory the objects for Krehky were mouth-blown. Ineke also designed and realized a series of bowls for Krehky, in which Amanita becomes a dominant of their inner landscape.
