Vase for roses from the collection of seven vases Our Flora, designed by Klára Šumová and decorated with illustrations by Michal Bačák. The collection is a spatial atlas of stories from the plant kingdom. Each vase is inspired by and made for a specific flower – a vase as a stage for the radiant beauty of flowers. Wild flowers, tulips, roses, peonies, sunflowers, violets, flowers floating on the water surface. Flowers which we want to have on our table at home… and stories. Such as about a peony grown out of the tears of flamingos, or about a black rose and its thorns with which stag beetles fight for their honor. “When black rose is in bloom, it condenses much more humidity than other plants even in a relatively dry season. It is because of the low albedo of the black surface. These drops of dew, running down the petals, are behind many legends about the grievous rose, when people thought that the rose cries for the dead stag beetles or groans due to the pain caused by tearing off its thorns.”
